This is a new and very ambitious game. It is focused on the concept of corrupting and dominating all sorts of beautiful ladies from a peasant girl to the members of nobility! You play as a hideous and scheming magician, and you will use every trick and technique to get into their panties.
Positives: - well developed world and lore - the feeling of guilt and corruption on the women is well done - many mechanics from verbal skills, to potions to master add variety - many different girls to make yours
Negatives: - the game sometimes has bugs, like one which the screen goes black and you need to hard reset - some assets clash in style with each others, like one character looks like stock rpgm and the other looks like western fantasy characters, but I suppose this will disappear as the game progresses.
To summarize, Court Magician is a nice addition to the fantasy, corruption, and netori genres, and I totally recommend you checking it out!
As a fan of both gaming and erotica, I like my adult games to have some gameplay elements, instead of just "click for the next erotic scene". I also like RPGM titles which explore what the engine can do. And I like to see custom assets in an RPGM game.
This game combines all of those things. It has custom character sprites, non-default tilesets and music, and an interesting gameplay loop. And, of course, erotic content. I like the corruption theme and the elements of BDSM. And the artwork is good, as well.
The game is a bit buggy at times, but we're still early in the game's development, and more bugs are getting fixed with every new release. I look forward to seeing how this game develops, and I recommend that people give this a try.
A title with a great premise, tone, and foundation that pushes the bounds of the RPGMaker engine. Can't wait to see how the game comes out as development continues and everything gets tightened up!
I am curious to what games were your primary inspiration for Court Magician. I'd love to check out titles with similar premises, like a greasy magician man trying to leverage women.
I don't have a direct inspiration for the game with a greasy magician trying to manipulate women. It was inspired in part by the idea of the lecherous villain in pop culture actually succeeding (Grima Wormtongue -> Eonwyn, Jafar -> Jasmine, Ming the Merciless-> Dale Arden, etc) but also on the idea that no one is really innocent or good, but kind of that everyone is bad and deserving of the downfall that they get.
There are a bunch of lecherous/ugly bastard games out there. Most recently I've liked Satisfy Him, also a big fan of Cohabitation. Ugly Bastard genre seems to be popular with Hentai, and Hentai games, but in general I'm not a fan of the aesthetic. I'm also very inspired by trainer games like those by Akabur and PinkTea.
On top of that, I wanted to meld with some of nostaligia for Disney/Bluth movies/Western animation, emergent strategy games (civiliazation) and 90s adventure games from Sierra/Lucas Arts. Mix all of that together and you get the Court Magician!
